EastEnders seals favourite’s fate in Cindy attack story as shock evidence is uncovered
Christmas Day in EastEnders saw Cindy Beale’s (Michelle Collins) life fall apart when her affair with Junior Knight (Micah Balfour) was uncovered.
In a completely iconic scene, the Knights and Beales discovered the betrayal via the medium of a recording. It featured Cindy talking to David Wicks (Michael French) about sleeping with Junior, and how she sometimes thinks of ex George (Colin Salmon) as she lays next to him.
After Ian (Adam Woodyatt) threw his partner out onto the street, Cindy prepared to say goodbye to Albert Square once more, only for someone to approach behind and attack her with a shovel.
It’s put the likes of Elaine (Harriet Thorpe), Lauren (Jacqueline Jossa) and Kathy (Gillian Taylforth) all under the spotlight when it comes to who was responsible but last night, focus turned to a different character.
Elaine’s husband George was thrown out of the Queen Vic pub on Christmas Day after George referred to Cindy as his wife. Despite George claiming it was a slip of the tongue, it hurt Elaine a lot, and he’s been staying at the B&B ever since.
In last night’s episode, George arrived in the pub and debated doing something with the bloodied shirt he had hidden in the under the stairs cupboard. He was caught by Elaine, who knew he was hiding something.
The two characters spent the majority of the day talking about the events of Christmas Day and eventually, they started to clear the air. With Elaine recognising how sorry George was, she said he could move back in – but must sleep in Linda’s (Kellie Bright) bedroom for now.
Unfortunately, any hopes of the family getting back on track were destroyed when Elaine, Anna (Molly Rainford) and Gina (Francesca Henry) found George’s shirt.
Gina immediately spotted the blood and Elaine looked terribly worried. Does this mean George attacked Cindy?
Or was he there when someone else committed the crime?
