Ruby Allen (Louisa Lytton) is less than impressed to see partner Martin Fowler (James Bye) growing closer to his ex-wife Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) in EastEnders next week.

The love triangle continues!

Last week, Stacey’s worst fears were realised when she discovered that the pair had reconciled.

After close friend Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) was rushed to hospital following a poisoning incident, she had contacted Martin in her hour of need.

He dropped everything to be by her side, but Stacey was shocked to see Ruby show up as they were hugging.

She immediately began to tear strips off Ruby, despite her good intentions, and accused her of coming to the hospital just to try to ‘pull’ Martin.

Stacey later witnessed Martin and Ruby kiss, with them totally unaware that she was watching on from afar.

In upcoming scenes, Martin is still in turmoil at the prospect of the Bridge Street Market being redeveloped.

Viewers of the BBC soap will remember that at the end of last year, Junior Knight (Micah Balfour) won the contract to turn the market and Square Gardens into a carpark.

The residents gathered at The Queen Vic to hear more about the plans, and ex-councillor Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) confirmed that it was indeed true.

Walford’s residents have gathered together to form a campaign, with Kim Fox (Tameka Empson) creating a nude calendar featuring the locals in a bid to get some money behind their efforts.

As we’ll see next week, Ruby will encourage Martin to seek answers on what will happen with his pitch.

When he arrives at The Vic, he breaks the news that he has just a few hours to prepare a strong case from the traders to present to the council development team.

Ruby is narked when she sees Stacey agree to chip in, leaving her pushed to one side and not happy to see them engaging in a playful conversation about their project.

Soon, Mr Lister (Nick Wilton) arrives with the council’s verdict.

Has the market been saved?
