Emmerdale star Paula Lane has taken to social media to share some heartbreaking news that has caused ‘shock and anger’.
The actress shared a post from a local hospice revealing that they had been broken into, with the criminals leaving ‘thousands of pounds worth’ of damage.
The damage, as well as the theft of further items, has left staff at the hospice in ‘shock, anger and disbelief’.
The Ella Forster star was equally horrified, writing in the caption of her post: ‘I hope the absolute scumbag low lifes who did this to Overgate Hospice never need to use this wonderful place after their karma catches up with them.
‘Please if you know anything or have any information contact police.’
Her Instagram followers were quick to offer their support, with one saying: ‘How terribly sad. So sorry this has happened to such a vital service.’
‘I’m so so sorry to read this. It’s absolutely disgusting. I’m pleased the staff and patients stayed safe but I can’t begin to imagine the psychological side,’ another penned.
‘How can people be so heartless? That’s so harrowing and distressing for the families, the patients and the staff,’ a third said.
Actress Paula joined Emmerdale just over a year ago, but is set to depart from the show this year.
An update to the actress’s Spotlight page revealed that she will finish filming for the ITV soap in February 2025.
During her time on the show, she has been involved in a huge storyline that saw character Ella reveal that she had murdered her best friend as a child.
She has also had an on-and-off relationship with Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson).
Just how Ella will leave the Emmerdale village remains to be seen, but it could well have something to do with Liam and Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter), who initially chose to keep their relationship a secret to prevent Ella from getting hurt.
