Emmerdale Tension: Death Fears for Sarah Leave Jacob Terrified
Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) and Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) were seemingly back on track when tonight’s episode of Emmerdale began.
The two young adults found themselves hanging out over the festive period. When 2025 began, so did Jacob’s new placement at A&E, which meant he started to make friends with people away from the village.
This left Sarah feeling a little left out. She expressed her views to Jacob and thankfully, they managed to clear the air.
In this evening’s instalment, as Sarah said goodbye to Jacob after spending the night with him, they were interrupted by Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi).
When Sarah left, Leyla told Jacob that she wouldn’t interfere, but reckoned they should have a conversation about Sarah’s health.
Which sounds like interfering to us but, whatever.
When Sarah was a child, she was diagnosed with fanconi anemia (FA), a rare, inherited bone marrow failure syndrome, which increases the risk of cancer.
Outside in the village, a worried Jacob approached Sarah and put the brakes on their relationship. He said he didn’t want to lose her like girlfriend Leanna, who was murdered by Meena Jutla.
This made Sarah feel heartbroken but frustrated. As she has grown up, she’s regularly expressed that she doesn’t like being treated differently just because of her diagnosis.
Leyla and Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) then stuck their noses in and tried to make decisions for Jacob and Sarah. It was done out of a place of care, but both characters had to remind them they’re old enough to take control of their own lives.
Does this mean Jacob and Sarah will continue seeing each other?
