Carla Connor drops a shocking murder bombshell in Coronation Street
Carla Connor (Alison King) is set to send shockwaves when she drops a huge murder bombshell in upcoming Coronation Street scenes.
In recent episodes, Carla discovered that her kidney had been damaged by sepsis, and she would need another transplant.
With the factory boss having refused donations from both Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) and Bobby Crawford (Jack Carroll), Bobby took matters into his own hands and set about finding another donor.
Unbeknown to Carla, Bobby paid a visit to Rob Donovan (Marc Baylis) in prison and asked him to put the past behind him and donate a kidney to his sister.
Despite initially refusing, Rob later seemed to have a change of heart and agreed to discuss it further.
Next week, Bobby goes to visit Rob again, despite Ryan’s insistence that Carla wouldn’t accept a kidney from Rob even if he agreed to be a donor.
At the prison, Rob informs Bobby that he has found religion and, provided he’s a match, would like to donate a kidney to Carla.
However, their conversation is cut short when Matty Radcliffe (Seamus McGoff) pulls out a knife and holds the visiting room hostage.
News of Bobby being caught in the hostage situation soon reaches Carla, and it doesn’t take her long to realise that he must be visiting Rob.
Alone with Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin), Carla drops the bombshell that Rob is a murderer, leaving the teenager stunned.
Viewers will remember that Rob was responsible for killing Tina McIntyre after her affair with Peter Barlow was exposed in 2014.
When Rob confessed his crime to Carla later that year, she felt unable to keep the secret, and turned him in, fracturing their relationship.
Given the animosity between them and Rob’s previous crimes, will Carla be willing to accept his kidney?
When Bobby returns, Carla makes it clear to him that Rob’s religion is all an act and he can’t be trusted, but Bobby urges her to visit him and see for herself that he is a changed man.
Later, Carla is shocked to discover that if she accepts Rob’s offer then she will have to go private, thanks to the costs of keeping a prisoner in hospital.
When Ryan learns that they will have to part with roughly £100,000, he is stunned.
Will Carla be able to find the money, or will she be forced to turn down Rob’s offer after all?
