Coronation Street star Rebecca Ryan confirms pregnancy with funny quip
Former Coronation Street star Rebecca Ryan has confirmed she is expecting her second child.
The actress, 33, found fame as Debbie Gallagher in Channel 4 comedy drama Shameless, before going onto play Adam Barlow’s (Sam Robertson) bitter ex-girlfriend Lydia Chambers on the cobbles between 2021 and 2022.
Lydia claimed that he had wrecked her life years earlier, so she targeted his then wife Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) in a vicious payback scheme.
Rebecca has a wealth of soap roles under her belt, with regular stints in Waterloo Road – as Vicki MacDonald – and more recently as Gemma Dean in Casualty.
In 2023, she welcomed daughter Aurora with husband Dan Acraman.
The previous September, she revealed that the pair had tied the knot.
She shared a romantic picture of the pair from the big day on her Instagram account, captioning the post: ‘Forever with you is not long enough.’
The pair got engaged in 2018, before the coronavirus pandemic put a pause on their nuptials.
Now the family of three is set to add a new addition, as this weekend she took to Instagram to share the joyous news that she is pregnant.
Sharing three snaps of her holding her bump, Rebecca wrote: ‘Sleep is overrated anyway. Here comes baby No.2.’
A number of her former co-stars flocked to the comments, including her real life brother Jack James Ryan, who played Jacob Hay on the ITV soap.
‘can’t wait to meet my new best mate’ he wrote, echoing his words from Aurora’s birth two years earlier.
Summer Spellman actress Harriet Bibby penned: ‘Ah congratulations!!’, whilst Emmerdale legend Charley Webb, who played Debbie Dingle added: ‘Baby number 1 is so cute, how could you not.’
