Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) will be reminded of his past in upcoming episodes of Emmerdale as he makes a discovery about Ruby Fox-Miligan’s (Beth Cordingly) father Anthony (Nicholas Day).

It was revealed towards the end of last year that Anthony sexually abused Ruby when she was a child, and she hasn’t told a soul.

In recent instalments of the ITV soap, Ruby conducted a DNA test to find out for certain if Caleb (William Ash) is Steph’s (Georgia Jay) dad, or if it’s Anthony.

In the aftermath of this DNA revelation, other residents in the village will discover Anthony’s horrific secret.

With multiple characters out for revenge, it will eventually lead to Anthony being shot dead in the depot, and there’s every possibility Aaron Dingle will be responsible.

Discussing Aaron’s discovery that Anthony has been hiding a dark side, actor Danny Miller explained to us: ‘It’s only confirmed at the point where he sees an altercation with Ruby down by the church where Anthony is very hands on and aggressive with her that his suspicions are confirmed and he starts about investigating if his gut feeling is right!

‘Because he knows the difference of scared looks from his experience and that’s exactly what he sees in Ruby – is himself.’

Aaron’s biological father Gordon Livesy was responsible for sexually abusing him when he was a child. In 2016, Gordon ended his life while in prison, which Aaron sees as ‘taking the cowards way out’.

Revealing more about how Aaron’s past resurfaces during this discovery about Ruby and Anthony, Danny said:

‘He is instantly aggressive and destined for revenge, for Ruby, of course, but he sees his chance to level with Gordon who took “the cowards way out” as Aaron calls it – killing himself in prison.

‘He sees an opportunity to hand over Gordon (in Anthony) to the police – who will then serve his sentence in prison and give Ruby the justice she a) deserves and b) never had the chance of having himself.’

‘I think it’s pure disgust and dread as to how he’ll deal with this and bringing back so many evil and dark memories for Aaron that he’d suppressed for so many years.’

But will Aaron kill Anthony? Danny thinks there’s a very high possibility.

‘Having experienced the same abuse and disgusting acts and never really got the justice he deserved or that Gordon deserved – the motive is there in plain sight!’
