Another Coronation Street star has confirmed their exit from the soap – and their final scenes have already aired.

Seamus McGoff bid farewell to his character Matty Radcliffe in a post on Instagram, amid a wave of cast exits.

The young actor posted some behind-the-scenes pictures from Monday’s episode, which saw Matty and his brother Logan (Harry Lowbridge) cause a hostage situation in prison.

The pair were jailed after stabbing their other brother Mason (Luca Toolan) to death earlier this month.

Posing for a snap with fellow stars Marc Bayliss and Jack Carroll, who play Rob Donovan and Bobby Crawford, Seamus wrote: ‘Out with a bang!’

Luca Toolan, who played Mason, was among those who commented, posting a series of praising hands emojis.

Seamus first appeared in two episodes of Corrie in 2023, returning to cause trouble for brother Mason in November.

Mason’s on-screen death aired just hours after it was revealed Colson Smith had been axed from his role as Craig Tinker after 14 years on the cobbles, amid several other cast departures.

Earlier this month, Sue Cleaver revealed she is leaving her role as Eileen Grimshaw behind after 25 years on the Street.

It was then announced that Charlotte Jordan has quit her role as Daisy Midgeley after a dramatic four years in the soap, explaining that she wants to ‘explore other opportunities.’

Since then, Shelley King has announced she will be leaving as Yasmeen Nazir after nearly 11 years.

Metro previously revealed that Sue Devaney is being written out as Debbie Webster, with the character taking centre stage in a hard-hitting dementia storyline.

The latest cast departures also followed Helen Worth’s exit as Gail Platt after 50 years over Christmas.

Earlier this week, a number of Coronation Street stars spoke out about reports of a ‘crisis’ backstage on the ITV soap.

Andy Whyment, who plays Kirk Sutherland, posted on Instagram: ‘I’d just like to say that the show is not on its knees and there is most certainly not a cast revolt as one article has said.

‘Please don’t believe everything you read, I for at least one cast member am extremely happy and feel very grateful to still be working on Coronation Street,’ he added.

‘Well said darling, me too proud to be part of the Corrie team,’ Claire Sweeney, who plays Cassie Plummer said, while DS Lisa Swain star Vicky Myers added: ‘Absolutely!! Well said Andy.’
