Emmerdale fans have heaped praise on the ‘sensational’ Beth Cordingly after her performance as Ruby Fox-Miligan in Wednesday’s episode.
In the heartbreaking edition of the ITV soap, Caleb Milligan’s (William Ash) life changed forever when he discovered a DNA test in wife Ruby Fox-Miligan’s (Beth Cordingly) handbag that confirmed that daughter Steph (Georgia Jay) isn’t his own.
Ruby, as viewers know, was sexually abused by father Anthony (Nicholas Day) when she was a teenager.
Sadly, it was confirmed that he was in fact Steph’s real dad.
Ruby didn’t reveal this information, however, and instead reminded Caleb that he is Steph’s dad, given he raised her as his own.
While watching the episode, fans were blown away by Beth’s performace and share their thoughts on social media.
Posting on X (formerly Twitter), one fan said: ‘Ruby has quickly become one of my favorite #Emmerdale characters. This story is devastating. Beth Cordingly and William Ash are going to emotionally destroy me!!’
Another wrote: ‘Beth Cordingly TAKE A BOW!’
A third agreed: ‘Beth Cordingly is doing such a good job of this storyline. Heartbreaking.’
Another posted: ‘Ruby is such a riveting character, I’m so intrigued and invested in her story. Beth Cordingly plays her so well. Fantastic casting.’
‘The Caleb, Ruby, Anthony, storyline is important but it is so sick. The acting from Caleb & Ruby is excellent in kitchen scene.,’ said another.
