Emmerdale fans are currently deep in speculation about who could be the victim in the soap’s upcoming icy lake stunt – and now one star has hinted their character may be in danger.

Last week, bosses announced a villager’s life will hang in the balance when a car crashes into an icy lake next month.

Now, Lucy Pargeter, who plays Chas Dingle, seemingly confirmed fans will see her feature in the scenes.

In a picture on her Instagram Story, Lucy was seen in the back of what looked like a limousine, as snow and ice covered the backdrop behind the vehicle.

‘Can’t wait for you all to watch,’ she captioned the snap, which was also accompanied with a clip of Vanilla Ice’s 90s hit Ice Ice Baby.

In another snap, she posted a picture of someone led on the ground wearing a production coat, writing: ‘2am fatigue and cold set in for someone.’

Another showed a monitor on set during filming of the stunt, which she captioned: ‘Just for you. Enjoy.’

Currently, a number of Emmerdale cast members are set to leave the show, which means there’s every possibility someone – or maybe more than one person – will not survive this crash.

As it stands, Roxy Shahidi, Lesley Dunlop, Paula Lane and Susan Cookson are all departing, with Roxy’s final scenes as Leyla Harding allegedly seeing the character killed off.

Could she meet an icy grave?

Discussing what’s ahead, producer Laura Shaw said: ‘With winter nights having drawn in, our audience are enjoying cosy nights indoors whilst our fantastic team at Emmerdale have been recording gripping drama to bring to their screens.
‘The stunning backdrop of the village, from its rugged woodland to its wilder landscapes, set the perfect stage for what’s to come.

‘I’m thrilled for our audience to experience these episodes as they unfold, taking them on a chilling—quite literally—and perilous journey across the frozen ice.’
