Coronation Street star welcomes second child in ‘traumatic and tough’ birth
Coronation Street star Stephanie Davis, 31, has welcomed her second child, in a birth her partner Joe McKalroy described as ‘traumatic’.
Themum confirmed under his update that it was ‘tough’ as his social media post read: ‘Welcome to the world my beautiful baby boy Samuel McKalroy.
‘Named after your uncle the one and only who will always weigh heavy on my heart I wish so much that he could’ve met you and cherished you as much as I do.
‘It has been a traumatic experience but you are finally here in our arms.’
In his doting message, he added: ‘I never thought I could possibly love your mummy anymore than I already do but this is just so special and an unconditional love I cannot explain with words.
‘@stephaniedavis88 I love you more than you will ever know.’
Stephanie, who already has an eight-year-old son Caben with ex-partner Jeremy McConnell, was quick to respond lovingly.
‘Sobbing reading this. My heart. I love you more than anything in this world,’ she wrote.
‘I couldn’t love you more I’m so blessed to have you as a daddy to our boys xxx
‘You carried me though that, it was so tough. I love you more than you will ever know xxxxxxxx.’
Joe shared a selection of adorable pictures of the newborn and Steph in her hospital bed.
Since then, Steph’s friends and fans have congratulated her, with Helen Flanagan responding: ‘Congratulations. What a beautiful boy xxx.’
In October last year, Steph revealed on her social media that she had been sent to A&E by a doctor after feeling unwell last Friday.
The actress updated her followers on the symptoms she had been experiencing including ‘swollen joints’ and being ‘short of breath’. Shen then went on to say doctors and nurses have wondered if she’s developed ‘pregnancy arthritis’.
She and Joe, who she described as her ‘biggest rock’, have been trying for a baby for some time and she devastatingly suffered a miscarriage in 2021.
They had been considering fertility treatment before they then conceived naturally in 2022.
Steph is known for her roles as Corrie’s Courtney Vance and Hollyoaks schemer Sinead O’Connor.
