Stacey Solomon’s two sons land roles in major soap

Stacey Solomon’s sons Zachary and Leighton have landed roles in Channel 4’s Hollyoaks.

Stacey is married to fellow TV icon Joe Swash. They have three children together called Rex, Rose and Belle, with Zachary and Leighton being Joe’s stepsons.

Joe is also father to a teenager called Harry, from a previous relationship.

Recently, fans of the family and Hollyoaks got quite the surprise, as they spotted Leighton and Zachary as extras in the show.

Zachary played a Parcel Patrons worker who bumped into Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe), while Leighton portrayed a paperboy, who arrived late for his shift and received a telling off from Pearl Anderson (Dawn Hope) as a result.

Their cameos sparked plenty of comments from followers of Stacey and Joe’s. One person said: ‘Aww Stacey’s kids so lovely to see them on my favourite show’, while another wrote: ‘Oh I did notice them when I watched this episode!’.

Last month, Joe briefly reprised his role as Mickey Miller in BBC One’s EastEnders.

The actor and TV personality, 42, originally starred in the BBC soap between 2003 and 2008, before making a brief return in 2011.

The unexpected comeback saw him reunite with some Walford favourites as he joined in on their saucy charity calendar shoot to raise awareness of the Bridge Street market’s closure.

The surprise appearance left fans desperate for him to make a more permanent stint – and Joe hasn’t ruled this out.

‘I love that place. I have the most amazing fond memories of being on EastEnders. I was super honoured to be asked back. It felt like home’ he revealed to The Mirror.

‘If they wanted me to go back in, that would be something I would think about.

‘I’ve got a big family so it would have to suit me and the family ultimately. Soaps are quite full on and I have quite a young family.’
