David faced with terrible news after Shona’s kidnap in Coronation Street spoiler video
David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) is trying to keep control of a risky situation in Coronation Street, but with Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor) on his back, things won’t get quiet for him just yet.
David stole some money belonging to Harvey last year. He naively thought he’d be in the clear given Harvey is in prison – but the drug dealing murderer has men on the inside and outside – he is capable of anything.
In upcoming episodes, David realises Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) hasn’t shown up for work.
Feeling worried, he heads to the police station to report her missing, but is troubled when he realises Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) is the offer on duty.
In this video, an arrogant Kit downplays Shona’s disappearance but when David mentions that Harvey is involved, the situation changes.
Kit asks David why Harvey would be after him, but he’s hesitant to say anything.
The officer pushes David for information again and eventually, he braces himself, knowing Harvey could put his children in danger too if he wastes time.
This development comes ahead of a huge fire at the Platt household, which is set to change things forever.
Previously teasing David’s new storyline, producer of the show Kate Brooks said: ‘The story we’re telling is one of a very desperate David, trying to protect his family and keep Harvey and his goons at bay. He is struggling to navigate that, and struggling to pay back this big debt he has. He’s struggling to protect his family.
She added: ‘It all comes to a massive head in early February, when we play a massive stunt that has huge consequences for David.
‘In trying to protect everyone and do the right thing, he ends up losing quite a few things that he holds dear.
‘So, a real journey for David. He’s well-intentioned, but he fails, messes up and makes mistakes, and there’s massive consequences not only for his own family, but for the wider community as well.’
