Coronation Street confirms who is trapped in the fire as the Platt house explodes
Next week in Coronation Street, the Platt house will be set on fire – and lives are in danger.
David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) will reach a conclusion in the coming days which changes everything. He’ll believe that in order to pay Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor) back, he’d need to set fire to the house.
He then finds his friend Andy – who he met in prison – and says he needs his help.
As David makes a call to Andy to arrange a time for their plan, Nick (Ben Price) reminds him that it’s Sarah’s (Tina O’Brien) birthday party, unaware that Logan – Mason’s brother – is listening in.
A worried Sarah tells Nick that she’s worried Harvey will get wind of all the Platts being in one place and will be a sitting target. David then finds his sister and says that he’s attending a client’s house later, and therefore won’t be attending her birthday.
Later, someone approaches Number 8 and pushes a lit rag through the letterbox.
After smelling burning, Sally (Sally Dynevor) announces the fire to everyone in the bistro.
As they race outside, Shona (Julia Goulding), Max (Paddy Bever) and Nick realise Lily (Brooke Malonie) might be inside, so they head into the flames.
In the burning building, Nick finds Toyah (Georgia Taylor) unconscious on the floor. Fortunately, Lily is found safe but when Shona rushes back onto the cobbles, she tells David that Max is trapped.
As they head back up the path, Number 8 explodes.
Just as the emergency services arrive, Kit (Jacob Roberts) explains to the paramedic that Toyah has suffered smoke inhalation and also has a head wound. Back in the Platt house, a firefighter finds Max’s lifeless body. As he is lifted into an ambulance, David climbs in with him.
