Smiling Coronation Street star Sydney Martin gushes over ‘darling’ real-life boyfriend
Coronation Street star Sydney Martin has taken to Instagram to gush about her real-life boyfriend in a sweet post.
The Betsy Swain actress shared a picture to her Instagram story of herself alongside her boyfriend, clutching a bouquet of flowers and smiling.
She captioned the photo ‘darling boy’ in tribute to her partner.
The actress previously shared a picture of them celebrating the New Year together, which received a lot of love in the comments.
Sydney once again gushed about her boyfriend in the caption, writing: ‘The greatest gift 2024 brought me.’
‘You’re such a gorgeous couple. Happy New Year,’ co-star Sally Dynevor, who plays Sally Metcalfe, wrote in the comments.
Sydney’s best friend and Hollyoaks star Isabelle Smith also chimed in, calling the couple her ‘faves’.
The Corrie actress previously wowed fans with her impressive singing voice, after taking to Instagram with a cover of Tom Odell’s Another Love.
Since joining Coronation Street as feisty teenager Betsy last year, Sydney has been involved in some massive storylines.
As the daughter of local detective sergeant Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers), Betsy caused chaos when she got involved with sinister solicitor Joel Deering.
Her attempts to blackmail him ended with her procuring abortion pills for him, which he then used to drug pregnant Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton).
After falling for Mason Radcliffe, and discovering her mum’s afternoon of passion with boss Carla Connor (Alison King), Betsy made a deal with Matty and Logan Radcliffe (Seamus McGoff and Harry Lowbridge) to let them rob the factory.
In recent weeks, she was left completely distraught when Mason was murdered by his brothers, who stabbed him during a fight, after Mason had gone to the police with evidence that they were involved in Becky Swain’s death.
The actress previously spoke out against cruel comments from Lord Alan Sugar directed at young EastEnders star Juhaim Rasul Choudhury, who plays Nugget Gulati.
In an expertly crafted post on Twitter/X, Sydney pointed out that ‘actors were humans too’, and that they trained hard for their jobs.
This came after Sydney herself fell victim to online trolling, and was overwhelmed with support from fans, as well as on-screen mum Vicky Myers.
‘She’s far from awful. Quite the opposite actually,’ Vicky replied to the troll.
In response, Sydney wrote, ‘Love you mama bear,’ to which Vicky said: ‘Love you more.’
