Hollyoaks spoilers follow for Wednesday’s (January 29) episode that is now available to view on Channel 4 streaming. The episode in question will air on E4 on at 7pm.
Abe Fielding (Tyler Conti) came to realise that his fate was well and truly sealed after Cleo McQueen (Nadine Mulkerrin) and Peri Lomax (Ruby O’Donnell) live-streamed him confessing to his crimes.
The abuser, as viewers know, coercively controlled Cleo before locking her in a room for over a year. He subsequently married Peri and raped her while she was unconscious.
The sinister character admitted to all of this when cornered by Cleo and Peri in the toilets at The Loft, unaware that he was being live-streamed to hundreds of viewers online.
In shocking scenes, he also admitted to raping Leela Dexter (Kirsty-Leigh Porter), implying that baby Clara is actually his child.
The revelation sent shockwaves through the village, with Joel (Rory Douglas-Speed) horrified to realise what wife Leela had been through.
Leela reeled upon learning that her ordeal was made public, breaking down in tears.
Joel proved incredibly supportive and, in powerful scenes – helmed by superb performances from stars Kirsty and Rory – he promised Leela that he would be there for her and Clara, regardless of whether he’s the baby’s biological father.
Leela, meanwhile, made her way to the McQueen residence to chat to Mercedes (Jennifer Metcalfe), who similarly proved supportive.
Peri struggled to understand why her mum didn’t confide in her, with Cleo urging her to tread gently with Leela, who has been through an emotional ordeal too.
As Abe packed up his belongings at the flat, the women discussed going to the police and getting him put behind bars where he belongs. Cleo, however, was quick to reiterate that Abe keeps getting away with his crimes.
Mercedes thought long and hard about the situation and in an unexpected move, the former landlady of The Dog suggested that they murder Abe to stop him from ever hurting another woman.
The question is: will Cleo, Mercedes, Peri and Leela take matters into their own hands? And will Abe finally answer for his crimes?
