Former Coronation Street star Sally Lindsay has revealed whether or not fans can expect to see her back on the cobbles anytime soon.

The actress, who rose to fame as Shelley Unwin in the early noughties, has gone on to achieve major success since her ITV soap exit, starring in TV dramas such as Cold Call, Scott and Bailey and The Madame Blanc Mysteries.

Discussing the possibility of reprising her role in Corrie, Sally said she would ‘never say never’ but ultimately confirmed that it’s currently on the cards.

‘It’s a great job and I’ve always said this about Coronation Street, never say never,’ she told Radio Times.

‘It has been many years now and I’ve got my own show and I produce as well, so it’s probably not for me.’

‘But I absolutely think it’s the best thing ever for people to go back, because it’s like another world. It’s a great job.’

Sally revealed last year that there was one moment in time in which she would have returned to Coronation Street and that it would’ve been for Betty’s (Betty Driver) funeral.

‘‘I definitely would have gone back to Corrie for Betty’s funeral because she was a very dear friend,’ Sally told Yours Magazine.

‘Suranne [Jones, who played Karen McDonald] said she would have done as well, but they never asked us.’

The TV star reflected fondly on her stint on the soap, branding it a ‘wonderful time’.

‘Suranne and I get asked [if we’d return] a lot, and obviously we’ve been very lucky in our careers, so at the moment, no.

”Although, having said that, never say never, because we loved it – I loved it. It’s the best place to grow, and to learn. I learnt everything on Coronation Street – it’s brilliant.
