Bianca Jackson (Patsy Palmer) was left facing an uncertain future after sister Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) seemed to give up on the idea of saving her in Thursday’s EastEnders.

As fans know, Bianca is currently facing going down for the murder of Debbie Colwell after ‘confessing’ to the crime in a bid to get Sonia out of prison.

Sonia was wrongfully arrested for killing Debbie last year, unaware that fiancée Reiss Colwell (Jonny Freeman) was the one actually responsible.

Bianca later found out his killer secret and Reiss has been holding her hostage in a storage unit ever since.

Bianca’s ‘confession’ later helped Sonia be found not guilty at a trial last week – but since her release, Sonia has been unconvinced of Bianca’s guilt.

Reiss has taken hugely manipulative steps to try and control Sonia and get her to drop her investigations – and his actions appeared to have the desired effect during the latest episode of the BBC soap.

During Thursday’s visit to Walford, Sonia was seen reading from a bible belonging to her late grandmother Dot Branning (June Brown) in the café.

She told Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter) it was helping her find comfort following recent events.

Reiss was then secretly delighted when Sonia told him it had helped her see that it was ‘time to move forward’, focus on their relationship and ‘let Bianca make her own mistakes’.

But will Sonia really give up on her sister so easily?

Either way, Reiss’ downfall appears to be imminent, with it looking very much like he is involved in the forthcoming explosion at the Queen Vic…
