Two key EastEnders characters finally call a truce after devastating event
Penny Branning (Kitty Castledine) and Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams) finally call a truce over their long-running feud in EastEnders next week.
The pair have been at loggerheads since Penny stole Chelsea’s job as manager of the club – then called Peggy’s – last year.
As Chelsea sought revenge by tampering with the club’s online booking system, she inadvertently caused a crowd crush which left step-sister Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd) with devastating injuries.
Chelsea kept quiet about her involvement in the aftermath, letting Penny take the fall for her crime.
However, after her mum Denise Fox (Diane Parish) uncovered the truth, she then revealed it to the rest of the Fox-Brannings.
Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) was initially furious with Chelsea for causing daughter Amy’s injuries, he later asked the family to choose whether Penny or Chelsea should take the wrap, reasoning that Penny was unlikely to face prison time.
Penny was then devastated when she was the one left facing punishment.
While Penny has since escaped prison time, relations between her and Chelsea have remained frosty.
Next week, Chelsea is without a place to live having moved out of No. 20, disgusted with mum Denise’s relationship with her ex-boyfriend Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara).
A similarly shellshocked Jack, who has been harbouring feelings for ex-wife Denise, then invites Chelsea to move into No. 27 with him.
Denise attempts to convince her daughter otherwise, while Penny riles at her dad for allowing Chelsea into his home.
But later in The Vic, Chelsea and Penny come to a truce after Penny sticks up for her former step-sister during a tense situation.
However, it is still far from happy families for the Fox-Brannings as the fall-out from Denise and Ravi’s relationship continues…
