EastEnders fans have called for a romantic twist that would up-end the soap’s interactive vote for the upcoming 40th anniversary.
In the lead-up to the milestone later this month, fans will get to vote on Denise Fox’s (Diane Parish) fate, choosing whether her heart should be with lover Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) or ex-husband Jack Branning (Scott Maslen).
The actors will then have to play out scenes reacting to the result during a special live episode due to air during the anniversary week, which begins on 17 February.
However, earlier this week, fans saw Ravi share an unexpected kiss with his ex Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan-Levy).
The moment saw Priya then tearfully confessed she was worried about their children Nugget Gulati (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury) and Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James) losing their dad to drugs, just as she had lost him years earlier.
As Ravi comforted Priya with a hug, she then leaned in for a kiss – to which he responded by going in for a second.
As her hopes of a reunion were raised, Ravi later let her down gently by revealing he was seeing someone else.
The truth about his secret romance with Denise was then exposed to both of their families in the Square, after they were caught in a passionate moment at No. 20.
While Ravi confessed his love for Denise, many EastEnders fans have called for him and Priya to end up together instead.
‘I’m gonna be gutted if Ravi ends up winning the vote during anniversary week, he’s so much more so suited to Priya long term,’ one fan wrote on X.
