Coronation Street icon Jane Danson had a blast from the past on Thursday as she reminisced over an early role in her career.

Taking to Instagram, the 46-year-old soap star, famed for her portrayal of Leanne Battersby on the Street since 1997, shared snapshots with Georgia Taylor, who plays her on-screen sister Toyah Battersby, and James Corden at The Broadcast Awards in London.

Jane wrote: “Lovely night at #broadcast awards congratulations @coronationstreet winning best continuing drama! A special moment seeing @j_corden again after working together 30 years ago! (some of you may remember ‘out of tune’? Can’t believe it’s so long ago! ! ) happy memories x.”

Out of Tune was a British children’s TV sitcom which aired on CBBC from 1996 to 1998. The show saw a group of fictional children who are part of a church choir at a school, focusing on their humorous misadventures during practice sessions.

Fans were quick to react in the comments section, with one user noting: “Out of Tune mentioned! ! ! Have been working on recovering that show 🙂 so much love xx”, while another added humour with: “You should’ve asked why Leanne didn’t make a cameo for the nessa and smithy wedding”. Further, someone else complimented: “wonderful pictures…congratulations” and yet another follower chimed in: “Lovely pictures! ! ! ! Loving Leanne Toyah and Tracy on Corrie at the moment :).”

Jane is currently embroiled in a dramatic storyline on the cobbles with her character, Leanne. Earlier this week, viewers watched as a deadly explosion ripped through the Platts’ home, altering the lives of David, Shona, and their family.

It has since been disclosed that the fire was an act of arson, and in forthcoming scenes, everyone on the cobbles becomes a suspect as they rush to establish their innocence to the police.

On Tuesday evening, Leanne found herself accused by her ex, Nick Tilsley, of igniting the fire in retaliation against her sister, Toyah Battersby. Despite not recalling the night due to intoxication, Leanne assured him she was not involved.

However, when Leanne discovered a box of matches in her coat pocket, things took a turn. In next week’s episodes, Kit interrogates Leanne and reviews all the evidence pointing towards her as the arsonist. Despite the damning evidence, Leanne maintains her innocence.
