Things are bleak for Leanne in Coronation Street as she faces prison amid new evidence
One drunken night has put Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) in a perilous position in Coronation Street.
The character hasn’t been the same ever since she discovered ex-partner Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) was seeing her sister Toyah (Georgia Taylor) again.
The two characters had an affair when Leanne was in Rowan’s cult, but agreed to put a stop to things to prevent her from anymore hurt.
However, Toyah and Nick then realised the feelings they have for each other were deep-rooted, prompting them to start a proper relationship.
Leanne previously attempted revenge by framing Nick and Toyah for fraud. This failed spectacularly, resulting in her being forced to attend community service as punishment.

A few days ago, Leanne spent the afternoon getting drunk following a rejection from Steve (Simon Gregson). Her reckless behaviour also happened on the same evening the Platt family home set on fire.
Once Leanne spotted Toyah being removed from the burning building she ran to see her, but Nick told Leanne to leave as soon as he realised she was very drunk.
In the hospital, a puzzled Leanne went to get her purse from her coat pocket, only to find some matches inside. It has left Kit (Jacob Roberts) and a few other Weatherfield residents believing she started the fire in an act of revenge, but Leanne thinks she is innocent.
In upcoming episodes, Kit interviews Leanne about the fire. He goes over all of the evidence which points to her being responsible and Leanne says that while it looks bad, she definitely didn’t do it.
Towards the end of the week, Craig (Colson Smith) reveals that Leanne hasn’t been charged yet because some new evidence has come to light, and the police need to wait on forensics.
It’s not looking good for her – is Leanne about to go to prison for arson?
