Things go from bad to worse for Coronation Street’s David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd) when Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) delivers a blow next week.

David is currently being taunted and threatened by gangster Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor) over the stash of cash he stole from him last year.

As a result, he has been teaming up with his friend Andy – who he met in prison – on illegal jobs to try and raise the funds he owes.

He then saw his family home go up in flames earlier this month, when a misguided Max Turner (Paddy Bever) set fire to No. 8 in the hope an insurance scam would keep Harvey off their backs.

In the aftermath, David was arrested on suspicion of trying to pull off the scam, with brother Nick even believing he was behind the crime.

Having since been released, police currently suspect Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) was responsible for the fire, and the Platts have rallied around Max to try and protect him.

But with David’s cash problem still looming over him, forthcoming scenes see him tempted to join Andy on another robbery – but he’s given a lifeline when Nick makes him a proposition.

However, next week, David is already having a terrible day when things get even worse as Nick delivers some bad news.

Already pushed to the edge, how will David react?
