Things all become too much for Coronation Street’s Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) next week when he loses it after receiving more bad news.

Fans have recently seen the Weatherfield mechanic dealt the devastating news he has cancer. He has subsequently undergone surgery but will require further treatment.

Kevin’s diagnosis came against the backdrop of his wife Abi Webster’s (Sally Carman) declining mental health, as she has been experiencing PTSD in the wake of Mason Radcliffe’s (Luca Toolan) murder.

Next week, however, Kevin is struggling with having to take it easy, having returned home after his operation.

When Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan) calls for young Alfie to take him to the Red Rec, Kevin wishes he could go too, but Abi insists that he needs to rest.

As Ronnie fixes a kitchen cupboard for Abi, a deflated Kevin feels totally useless.

But on Friday, he is hit with another bombshell, which he struggles to come to terms with.

A concerned Abi, who is now in therapy to treat her PTSD, offers to cancel her latest session so she can spend the afternoon with Kevin, but he puts his foot down and won’t allow it.

Later, Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine), who has been a big support to Kevin through his diagnosis, pops by the garage to check on him.

But as Tim tries to offer him some words of comfort, Kevin’s hurt turns to anger.

Facing an uncertain future, will Kevin let his loved ones in?

Coronation Street airs these scenes on Monday at 8pm on ITV1 or stream first from 7am on ITVX.
