Emmerdale may have just seen off a chunk of the cast in a deadly ice lake crash, but there’s fresh blood heading to the village in the shape of a proclaimed ‘bad boy’ who will lead Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) astray.

Kammy, played by newcomer Shebz Miah, starts as he means to go on by getting on the wrong side of the Dingles and stealing a quad bike from Moira’s farm.

Instantly, he piques the interest of Sarah, who finds herself drawn to his dangerous and mischevious way of life.

The finger of blame for the theft of the bike lands on Ross Barton (Michael Parr), and when he seems to have rumbled Kammy, whose side will Sarah take?

Excited by the new arrival, a relationship forms for Sarah with the charming rogue but it could well lead her off the rails and incur Kammy the wrath of the Dingles.

Introducing the character with promises of danger, romance, excitement and inherent charm, Emmerdale producer, Laura Shaw, said: ‘We are delighted to be welcoming Shebz to Emmerdale as cheeky charmer Kammy.

‘Charismatic, with a very playful spirit, but ultimately kind at heart, Yorkshire lad Kammy promises to bring both excitement and danger to the village.’

On his new role, Shebz ehtused: ‘I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining the cast of Emmerdale. Everyone has been so welcoming and I already feel like a part of the family.

‘I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better job – the character is such an exciting one to play and Kammy will definitely ruffle a few feathers, but he does have the gift of the gab so although he causes a lot of mischief, I think it will be hard not to like him!’

Katie added: ‘I can’t wait for the audience to meet Kammy – he’s a really fun character and a great addition to the village.

‘We might even see him and Sarah get up to a bit of mischief together. It has been great having Shebz join the cast and he’s been brilliant to work with!’

Kammy will arrive in the Dales next month, in the midst of a tumultuous time for Sarah.

Trying to support grieving Jacob (Joe-Warren Plant), who is struggling to cope after Leyla’s death, Sarah will get the shock of her life via a positive pregnancy test.

Will this bombshell help lead her into more rebellious territory with Kammy as she questions her future?
