Viewers are on the thought train that Mary Goskirk (Louise Jameson) and Suzy Merton (Martelle Edinborough) were having an affair before Suzy’s untimely Emmerdale death. Now it looks this theory is confirmed.
Before the fateful limo ride, Suzy seemed to be struggling in her relationship with Vanessa (Michelle Hardwick). When Vanessa told her she loved her, Suzy appeared to choke in trying to say it back.
Just before the trip, Mary blew Suzy a kiss right before she got in the car, which was a bit of a weird thing to do for just a friend.
In the limo, Vanessa caught Suzy being a bit caught up in her own thoughts, to which Suzy replied that they’d talk later.
Perhaps she planned to end their relationship, but as Suzy was killed on impact, later never arrived.
But it might be a fair assumption that she planned to dump Vanessa after a revelation.
It’s the day of the funeral and Mary receives a saddening text message that Vanessa won’t be attending.
Mary is absolutely consumed with guilt at this news– which is an odd reaction from an innocent person. She comforts a distraught Vanessa, but a flashback reveals all.
