Coronation Street star heaps praise on co-star as he exits: ‘You amaze me’
Coronation Street star Cait Fitton has paid tribute to departing co-star Paddy Bever.
Paddy announced he was leaving his role as Max Turner on the ITV soap in January after three years.
Earlier this week, fans saw Max sentenced to six years in prison for starting the fire at the Platt house in an attempted insurance scam.
Following the scenes, Cait – who plays Paddy’s on-screen girlfriend Lauren Bolton – shared a length post celebrating ‘Team Lax’, which is a nickname for Lauren and Max.
She wrote on Instagram: ‘‘What a journey it’s been… Coming into this , I never thought I’d be lucky enough to be paired with someone so hard working and so dedicated. @paddybever you amaze me.
‘Thank you for the lifelong lessons you have taught me, for being my rock and my partner in crime throughout my journey so far and for being the most caring, talented and gorgeous soul you are.’
Sharing a highlights video a fan had made of their journey together on the show, Cait continued: ‘Look at the journey we have had and the memories we have made.
‘For now it’s goodbye to Max on the cobbles, but I wish you so much love and luck for your future and I’m so excited for the opportunities that are to come your way!
‘I love you Beves,’ she added.
‘Oh Cait,’ Paddy commented.

He previously said in a statement about his exit: ‘After much reflection and in an incredibly difficult decision, I have chosen to step away from Max, and Coronation Street, to explore new opportunities. I have been surrounded by such kindness and support every step of the way.’
Talking to The Mirror, he added: ‘It’s been a great privilege to contribute to the legacy of such a well-loved and iconic show. This chapter has been unforgettable and while I look forward to what lies ahead, I will treasure these memories.’
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 or stream first from 7am on ITVX.
