Coronation Street legend soaked in blood after filming gruesome scenes
Coronation Street’s Jack P. Shepherd has shared a behind-the-scenes look at the filming of David Platt’s recent car accident, showing how he was covered in ‘pints’ of blood.
David was mowed down by accomplice Andy last week after ordering his own death in the hope it would settle his debts with gangster Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor).
Unfortunately, Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) was also caught up in the incident, and lost her unborn baby after also being hit by the car.
As Jack came together with co-stars Ben Price and Colson Smith, who play Nick Tilsley and Craig Tinker, to record a live episode of their podcast On the Sofa, Jack shared with the audience an insider look at the stunt.
He told the crowd: ‘As you can see from my jacket – you see how bloody it is at the back?
‘What’s happened is, my main artery has gone and I’m bleeding out on the floor so the paramedics and everything were like, “there’d just be loads and loads of blood, there would be pints of it”.’
Ben continued: ‘The great bit was Shepherd’s covered in blood, I’m thinking, “I’m concerned, he’s my brother. I don’t want blood on me… I don’t want blood on the suit now.”’

He also revealed a blunder from Jacob Roberts, who plays Kit Green.
‘Kit the policeman has to get in there and take his belt off – he couldn’t get his belt off!’ Ben said, as he and Jack mimicked Jacob not being able to remove it.
Commenting on the Instagram video, Jacob joked: ‘Not wore a belt since.’

Jack later shared the full set of B-T-S snaps on his own Instagram page, adding: ‘It was a great block that everybody worked so hard on and I think all departments got something out of it.
‘We hope you all enjoyed as much as we enjoyed making it.’
While David might have lived to see another day, Jack recently spoke out about his long-term future with Corrie, having been with the show for 25 years.
He said: ‘I was only in the show three months originally, and then they just kept on sort of ringing my mum up, and my agent saying, “Yeah, we’ll extend it.”
‘So, yeah, 25 years is a long time, I think, for anyone. But I get year contracts now, I don’t get three-months ones. So, I’m only ever here for like, another year, so. It runs out this year, so they might not continue it!
‘They might go with someone else, but I’m still enjoying it.’
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 or stream first from 7am on ITVX.
