‘Absolutely amazing!’ Metro readers blown away by powerful Emmerdale Ruby and Steph moment

Steph Miligan (Georgia Jay) reached a dead end a few days ago in her quest to find out what really happened to her granddad Anthony Fox (Nicholas Day). She concluded that if her parents weren’t going to tell her the truth, she’d go to the police.

A worried Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) and Caleb Miligan (William Ash) knew that Steph was being serious when she confronted them about going to the station. Closer to the truth than ever before, Steph was taken aback when Caleb then confessed to killing Anthony.

He left Mill Cottage and made his way to the police station, to stop Steph from reporting him.

This left Ruby utterly devastated. Desperate to save Caleb from a life behind bars, Ruby then told her daughter the truth.

Steph struggled to process every single piece of horrific information she had learnt. Not only did she discover that her granddad sexually abused her mum, but she also had to try and get her head around the fact Anthony is also her biological father.

The scenes involving Steph, Ruby and Caleb were incredibly powerful. Following the episode, readers of Metro took to our Facebook page to share their thoughts.

Ger Oflaherty wrote: ‘The acting is absolutely amazing!’, and Kathleen Richardson said: ‘Great episode last night especially acting from Ruby and Steph’.

Echoing the view, Lynda Edwards penned: ‘What a fantastic episode last night, brilliant how they put it all together. Well done to Ruby and Steph brilliant acting.’

As the episode drew to a close, Steph and Ruby arrived at the police station and brought Caleb home, preventing him from making the confession.

Caleb and Ruby tried to reassure Steph and hugged her, as she tried to deal with the life-changing information.

In last night’s instalment, Steph will continue to spiral following the bombshells.

Unable to cope, she then sends a text to her mum, which leaves her worrying she’s lost her daughter all over again.
