Eurovision winner Mans Zelmerlöw and Hollyoaks star wife Ciara Janson file for divorce
Swedish Eurovision star Måns Zelmerlöw and his wife, Hollyoaks actress, Ciara Janson have made the decision to divorce one another after five years of marriage
A Swedish Eurovision Song Contest winner and their wife have made the decision to divorce after just five years of marriage. Måns Zelmerlöw and Hollyoaks actress Ciara Jenson tied the knot in 2019, three years after their paths first crossed.
Since they first met in 2016, the couple went on to welcome sons Albert, six, and Ossian, two. Ciara also has a son, Archie from a previous relationship.
While the couple often shared rare glimpses into their relationship on social media, they have called it quits and are going their separate ways from one another. While no details have been announced, documents state that Mans was the party who made the petition to start the divorce proceedings.
Under law in Sweden, the couple will have to give it six months to consider their divorce before they are granted it. In a statement shared with the Mirror, a spokesperson for Måns said: “It is correct that Måns Zelmerlöw has recently filed for divorce from Ciara. A difficult decision to make, especially for a parent of young children who is also a public figure.
“We now kindly ask for understanding and consideration that Måns and Ciara have two young children together. The family needs privacy to best handle this situation.”

The couple started dating in 2016 after Måns split from Swedish singer and model, Marie Serneholt, who he dated for three years before they went on to call it a day in 2011. Måns and Ciara later shared that they were engaged, before announcing in December 2017 that they were expecting their first child together.
Three years after marrying the couple announced that Ciara was pregnant with their second child. Over the course of their marriage, Ciara and Måns resided on a vineyard in Staffanstorp. However, Ciara travelled back to the UK every other week to see her son from the previous relationship.
Ciara last posted on social media in January after the family enjoyed a trip to Norway over the Christmas period. Following their getaway, the once happy couple were seen cuddling up to one another in the snow.
Captioning her post, she penned: “No highlight reel from 2024 over here, but grateful to be closing the door and leaving that one behind.
“Chivalrously holding it wide open for 2025. It’s started substantially better. Happy New Year to all of you and huge amounts of love.” While Ciara played Nicole Owen in the Channel 4 soap opera between 2004 and 2007, she made a brief return in 2019.
Måns found fame in 2015, winning the Eurovision Song Contest with his track, Heroes, giving Sweden its sixth win. Following his victory, Måns went on to host the 2016 competition, held in Stockholm, alongside presenter Petra Mede.
But Ciara turned her back on acting and fame and chose to become a ‘Mumfluencer’ on social media, often sharing snaps of her three children across her social media page.
