Coronation Street child rushed to hospital after terrifying accident
Coronation Street’s Bertie Osbourne (Rufus Morgan-Smith) is rushed to hospital after Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) takes her eye off the ball while looking after him next week.
The youngster suffers a serious accident when he nearly drowns in Sally and Tim Metcalfe’s (Sally Dynevor and Joe Duttine) hot tub.
It happens after Jenny offers to look after Daniel Osbourne’s (Rob Mallard) son while hiding news of a secret windfall from her stepdaughter and Daniel’s on-off partner Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan).
While Jenny is distracted by a call from her bank regarding the money, Bertie wonders off and goes missing.
At No. 4, Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) and Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) are getting ready to head out for a saucy dip in Sally and Tim’s tub.
But with Bertie having spotted his ball floating in the jacuzzi, Steve and Cassie are horrified when they find him in the water.
With a frantic Jenny having launched a search to find Bertie, she’s relieved Steve and Cassie soon emerge with him.
Daisy then reads Jenny the riot act as Bertie is then rushed to hospital.

As Daisy points out that Bertie could have drowned just like her half-brother Tom, Jenny is beside herself.
Fans of the ITV soap will likely remember that in Jenny’s backstory, she and her first husband had a son called Tom, who drowned when he was left unattended in a paddling pool in 2013.
But is Bertie out of the woods?
