Former Hollyoaks star Emmett J. Scanlan forgot one of his character’s most iconic scenes while appearing on Rob Beckett’s Smart TV.
The Sky comedy quiz show sees Alison Hammond and Josh Widdicombe lead teams of famous faces to see who has the best TV knowledge, with Beckett as the quiz’s host.
The latest episode, which aired on April 9, saw actors Himesh Patel and Emmett J Scanlan, presenter Carol Vorderman and comedian Kerry Godliman answer questions about a variety of memorable TV moments.
For one question, the quizzers watched a 2012 clip of Hollyoaks villain Brendan Brady killing his grandmother – a role played by Emmett.
“In Hollyoaks, which character ended his grandmother’s life by suffocating her in a bear hug? You were in it Emmett…” Rob asked.

“Yeah, but I didn’t watch it…” Emmett replied.
“Any guesses?” Rob asked, before announcing: “Ok… It was Brendan Brady.”
“Oh my god! That’s me!” Emmet exclaimed, as everyone else laughed.
“You don’t remember suffocating someone?” Rob asked, while Emmett replied: “I do now!”
Emmett appeared in his notorious villain role as Brendan between 2010 and 2013, before departing after a tense showdown with the police, where he was shot.
The actor has since gone on to star in shows such as Fool Me Once, Kin and Peaky Blinders.
He also starred in last year’s Channel 5 drama The Teacher alongside EastEnders’ Kara Tointon, who becomes involved in a “web of desire and deceit” after a student is murdered.
