George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) makes a worrying discovery in Coronation Street soon, but it happens moments before Julie Carp (Katy Cavanagh) dies.

Beloved character Julie returned to Weatherfield a few months ago, hiding the secret that she’s been living with stage four cancer. It wasn’t long until her family found out, who then decided to help her live life to the full, while she still had the time.

In upcoming episodes, Julie and Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver) are packing a few bags ready for a day at the lake. Challenges begin from the word go really, as Eileen clashes with George.

As a result of him forgetting about Eileen’s plans, she’s forced to get a cab to the lake with her sister, rather than have George drive them.

While the siblings enjoy the weather and relax, George stumbles across a video of Julie’s. To his shock, she talks to Eileen in it and advises her to end things with George.

Meanwhile, at the lake, Eileen heads to the refreshment van while Julie has a moment to herself. Unfortunately, just as Eileen returns, she sees Julie lying on her back with her eyes closed. She feels for a pulse, and then realises her sister has died.

In the aftermath of the death, as Eileen tries to process the event, George is in a complete state.

All he is thinking about is Julie’s final message to Eileen and whenever he tries to talk to his partner about their relationship, she gets annoyed and pushes him away.

During a chat about Julie’s adoration for Brian Packham (Peter Gunn) a few weeks ago, she accidentally let slip to George that Eileen is bored of their relationship.

So, as Eileen attempts to grieve, George is focused on other things.

Ahead of her exit from the cobbles, will Eileen’s relationship with George start to break down further?
