A Coronation Street star has shared how he was left 'limping' after a shock accident occurred at his home recently, after going on the hunt in his loft for an animal intruder

A Coronation Street favourite found himself “limping” after stumbling upon an unexpected find in his kitchen.
On the latest episode of the On The Sofa podcast, actor Ben Price, widely known as Nick Tilsley on the iconic soap, shared a comical, albeit painful incident at home amid a bizarre hunt for a rodent.
Chatting with co-stars Jack P. Shepherd and Colson Smith, Ben detailed the comical “accident” that ensued following an odd run-in with wildlife at his home.
The soap sensation hilariously revealed he had someone coming to fix his oven, which led to a grim discovery during a pre-repair clean out, a deceased rodent lurking under his kitchen unit.

Given his living situation next to fields, Ben suspected his loft might be harbouring more mice. Despite nursing a jiu-jitsu injury that rendered one leg essentially useless, he gallantly climbed up to check for further uninvited guests.
His somewhat risky pursuit took a turn for the worse when his foot crashed through the ceiling plaster.
He humorously recollected the calamity, saying: “And I put my foot straight through; straight through. I’ve fallen through the ceiling, but my leg’s dead, so I can’t pick it back up. So, I have to use both my – my leg’s trapped in – and I’m going, pulling it back.”
His torment didn’t cease with the accident; looking down at his rubble-filled bathroom below he added: “And I think to myself, ‘I’ve only put my little foot through’, so it’s just a foot mark in the ceiling. I’m thinking nothing of it, I look through the thing, and there was not one bit, the shower, the loo, the tiles, the floor, that wasn’t covered.”

Expanding on the disaster, he said: “It was utterly covered. The whole ceiling, the whole part of the ceiling, had fallen down. Utterly, utterly gone. So then, I’m limping down the stairs, Star’s like, ‘You’ve put your foot through the ceiling; where are the mice?'”
Taking no time to dwell on what had just happened, he hurried to tidy up the chaos without delay.
As fate would have it, his wife was heading upstairs for a shower when he humorously quipped: “You just need to know something, you just need to know something!” soon revealing: “I’ve put my foot through the ceiling”.
Initially foreseeing a minor patch-up job, he shared his frustration when his wife took the mishap as a cue for a full bathroom makeover.
Meanwhile, despite sharing an update from his home life recently, Ben has been a prominent feature on our screens over the last decade and a half having originally landed the role of playing Nick back in 2009. Since then he has appeared in a number of the shows biggest storylines.
