Coronation Street fans react to ‘tense and violent’ exit scenes

Coronation Street fans have been left gutted after recent scenes saw Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) attacked and left for dead.

The police officer was eager to prove himself after his day shadowing DC Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) in CID didn’t work out.

After a pep talk from DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) encouraging him to show Kit what a great police officer he is, Craig headed off in pursuit of Mick Michaelis (Joe Layton), after reports of a disturbance at his home.

When Craig caught up with Mick, he found him drink driving, and pulled him over at the precinct.

It was there that things took a horrifying turn, as Mick became aggressive and threatened Craig with a baseball bat.

Before Craig could defend himself with his baton, Mick had swung the weapon and made contact with Craig’s head, knocking him out cold.

Realising that Craig was bleeding and unresponsive, Mick fled the scene, leaving the police officer for dead on the pavement.

Fans were horrified by the ‘brutal’ scenes, and immediately took to social media to share their thoughts.

‘You will be missed Craig, such a sad ending,’ Metro reader Diane commented on Facebook, with Trish adding: ‘This episode was tense and violent and I shall miss Craig.’

Over on Twitter/X, Serena wrote: ‘Is this really the end for Craig this is so sad’.

‘I don’t think I’ve ever been as gutted to see somebody be attacked like I have been for Craig Tinker,’ Penni agreed, adding: ‘Why Corrie why!!!’

‘That final scene was heartbreaking! Poor Craig didn’t deserve that!’ Ryan said.

Though it has not been confirmed whether or not Craig will pull through after his attack, actor Colson Smith has already left the show, with his final scenes set to air this week.
