Legendary 00s EastEnders couple engaged after romantic proposal

Love is in the air for Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) and Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) next week, as the much-loved EastEnders couple are engaged.
It’s about time these two had some happiness, right?
The chain of events kicks off when shamed Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman) looks for a new business venture in the wake of his sacking.
As viewers of the BBC One soap know, Kat gave him his marching orders from the cab office when she discovered that he was cheating on her relative Jean (Gillian Wright) with Kathy Cotton (Gillian Taylforth).
Harvey reckons he’s struck gold when he sets his sights on a sleek new limo from an old mate, Cheeky.
Unfortunately his dreams are soon crushed when Kath’ admits that her bank balance won’t stretch for the new motor.
Kat can’t help but snipe at the pair’s apparent bliss, only for Alfie to step in and stop her. There’s only so much Slater animosity he can take!
Undeterred, Harvey tries to sweet-talk some of Kat’s drivers into stumping up cash for his scheme. When she catches wind of his scheming, Kat promptly derails his pitch.

An unusually sympathetic Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) then offers Harvey a few pointers, and he boldly asks Kat to join forces as business partners.
Furious by his suggestion, she declines and announces she’s going to launch her own limo operation.
Kat and Alfie waste no time plotting their rival venture: Kat meets Cheeky to haggle over the limo’s price tag, but he demands more cash up front.
Desperate for the money, she corners ex-husband Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) for a cough up of their divorce settlement.

After signing on the dotted line at the eleventh hour, Cheeky drops a bombshell – she must also take on his mysterious silent partner.
Meanwhile, Alfie dreams up a fake wedding photoshoot to advertise their chauffeur service, and confides in Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) that he’s itching to pop the question to Kat and cement their relationship once again.
Back at the flat, he gets down on one knee to pop the question – and Kat says yes!
On cloud nine, the couple gear up for a combined stag and hen do. Kat’s ecstatic when Kim unveils the hilarious “hag” party theme, but the celebrations could well be derailed by a disturbing discovery she makes on the family computer.
What has Kat found?
