Emmerdale pulled from ITV schedules in frustrating shake-up for soap fans

Bad news, soap fans – there won’t be any Emmerdale on ITV tonight.

We’re sorry to say that once again, it’s because of the football that we won’t get to catch-up with our favourite villagers.

Earlier this year, the network signed a new four year deal to broadcast all European Qualifiers, UEFA Nations League ties and friendlies between major tournaments.

Tonight it’s England v Finland, kicking off at 7:45pm.

That means you’ll have to wait a little longer to see the events of the devastating Butler’s Farm fire unfold.

Yesterday we saw Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) arrived at the barn to tease Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) over her ailing marriage to Cain (Jeff Hordley), but things soon took a disastrous turn.

With her vision blurring, she began to see and hear villainous Emma Barton – whose death she had caused by pushing her off the viaduct in 2017.

After locking them both inside, she spilled tractor oil on the floor and aimed a gun. As a shot fired out, Ruby tried to wrestle the weapon out of Moira’s hands, but she was knocked unconscious with flames surrounding them.

When we resume tomorrow, word soon reaches the other residents of the ongoing blaze.

Mackenzie (Lawrence Robb) spots smoke billowing in the distance and jumps on a quad bike over to Butler’s. He quickly calls Cain, Chas (Lucy Pargeter) and Caleb (William Ash) to deliver the news, and they also make their way.

Later, Chas attempts to stop Cain from dashing inside the burning building as an explosion knocks them all off their feet.

Drama!

There will be further disruption to the schedule tomorrow, when Coronation Street is dropped for the 2024 National Television Awards.
