“[But] I think Misbah feels that he’s her human. Misbah’s got a lot of love to give! I think we’ve only just scratched the surface with Misbah and how deep her character is.”
Harvey was speaking exclusively to us at a Hollyoaks photoshoot to promote the show’s Inside Soap Awards 2025 nominations.
As announced last month, Harvey and her co-star Louis Emerick (Donny Clark) are in the running for the Best Partnership prize this year.
“It’s really exciting – especially being with Louis because the two of us work really well together,” Harvey continued.

“We can have fun, even with the dark storylines. When you’re working with someone that’s a joy to work with, it’s a nice special touch.
“The first time I met [Louis] and we worked together, I knew we were going to have fun and everything was going to be okay.
“But of course, once you start working together, you start building a relationship. You get to know each other, you get to know how each other work. That working relationship just gets better and better.
“If we were to win, it would be the best! Honestly, I don’t even have words to say how amazing that would be, if Louis and I went up there for that award.”
Asked why Hollyoaks deserves fans’ support in the all-important Best Soap category this year, Harvey replied: “I think Hollyoaks has been through such a big change. I know that’s been challenging for everybody, but the one thing it’s hung onto is those true storylines that it always wants to tell.
“[It explores] what’s going on in the world, how people are trying to deal with it and what happens. We’re bringing those stories, even in a little way, into somebody’s home and they say: ‘Oh, I know a little bit about that. Let me see what’s going on’. That’s always there.
“And then you’ve got the comedy and the everyday life. It just makes you feel good that you’re doing a good job and you’re going about it the right way.”
