Hollyoaks is set to continue Tom Cunningham and Clare Devine’s feud with an unexpected twist that will come between Tom and Peri Lomax. Will Clare drive a wedge between Tom and his first love?
Viewers will know that Tom recently got out of prison, having been reintroduced to the soap earlier this year, with actor Ellis Hollins reprising the role.
Tom is currently hoping to rekindle his romance with Peri, his first love who became pregnant with his child when the pair were teenagers.
After returning to the village earlier this month, Tom bumped into his nemesis Clare who terrorised Tom as a child, kidnapping him, faking his death and attempting to murder his brother Max.
In scenes set to air next week, Tom and Clare continue to clash and the villainous Clare finds a way to come between Tom and Peri.

When Tom turns up at the hospital to find Peri in the middle of a busy shift, it turns out her excuse to get him there has a double purpose.
Recent events have made her question her future and their relationship and Peri shocks Tom with a proposition that he can’t refuse. Sparks fly between the pair as they rekindle their teen romance.
In her office, Clare flatters Peri and Tom is shocked and horrified to find Peri is spending time with Clare after being befriended by her.

Peri urges Clare to apologise to Tom but Tom gives Peri an ultimatum and their fledgling relationship collapses. Tom bravely warns Clare off, but is this the end of his romance with Peri?
“It’s like everywhere Tom turns at the moment, Clare is around the corner!” says our insider. “He’s keen to make a fresh start with his former love, but Clare seems determined to get her claws into Peri as well. What does Clare want from Peri, and will she wreck Tom’s life again?”
Previously speaking to Digital Spy about Tom coming face to face with Clare, Hollins said: “It’s going to be a monumental clash. Obviously the history they have together, the magnitude of the relationship we have together. It will be very interesting when we finally meet, if we finally do, and are maybe able to put things to bed.”
