Coronation Street legend feeling ‘confident and free’ as she shares powerful message
Former Coronation Street star Katie McGlynn encouraged her followers to love their body after years of ‘fixating’ on weight.
The 31-year-old actress, who played Sinead Tinker on the ITV soap, shared a string of pictures of her in a pink bikini on the beach.
She penned: ‘After wasting so much of my 20s fixating on my body, weight and what people thought of the way I looked, I can finally say I’ve fully embraced every part of me and won’t be wasting anymore time worrying, because none of it actually matters and for once I feel confident and free .’
‘It took me a long time, but it genuinely really doesn’t matter what anybody else thinks as long as YOU’RE happy…☺️’
Corrie star and onscreen Aunt Lisa George, who plays Beth Tinker commented: ‘Gorgeous.’
Actress Sally Carman Duttine, who plays Abi Webster, added: ‘You’re just proper lush you are 😭😍🙌💛.’
Katie played Sinead on Coronation Street between 2013 and 2020.
Following her departure, she joined Hollyoaks as scheming Becky Quentin, playing the character for a year.
The soap star also competed in the 2021 series of Strictly Come Dancing, partnered with Gorka Marquez.
During the 2022 TRIC Awards she said she had an exciting year coming up with plenty of projects in the pipeline, telling the Sun Online, ‘I’ve got a lot of projects but I still can’t say for definite yet, but it’s going to be an exciting year. I have never planned my career.
‘I just love working. I want to stick with TV, Netflix, film. I would love to do anything to do with stage. At the moment I want to stick to drama and Netflix type stuff.’
