EastEnders have revealed who really killed Anthony Trueman – and it’s not Zoe Slater. In the Boxing Day episode, the soap exposed what really happened in the Queen Vic, leading up to the doctor’s death.

The Boxing Day episode mostly focused on the aftermath of Christmas Day’s two-parter, in which Zoe (Michelle Ryan) was confronted by an angry Anthony (Nicholas Bailey), who was furious that she hadn’t told him he was the father of the children she gave up 19 years ago.

Zoe had told Anthony that she didn’t know the father of her two children, but he went behind her back and had a friend check through birth records to investigate. The information presented to him confirmed that he was the father, and he had a sick plan to tell Zoe that both children had died.

However, his plan was rumbled by Chelsea, who told Kat and Zoe that the story was a lie and, in fact, both of Zoe’s children were alive. In the days before Christmas, Zoe received a note to say that her child would be visiting The Queen Vic to meet her. This is when Jasmine arrived with Chrissie Watts and revealed she was Zoe’s daughter. But neither of them knew that Anthony was upstairs at this point.

But as Anthony and Zoe clashed, he was later seen lying on the floor upstairs at the pub unconscious, with Zoe later handing herself in to the police for the attack. Paramedics labelled Anthony as “unresponsive” as they arrived at the pub.

Now, fans believe that Zoe wasn’t actually responsible for Anthony’s condition. Taking to social media, one said: “Chrissie definitely did it!!” Another went on to pen: “So Chrissie has killed again and is making Zoe think that she killed them again, and another one of Patrick’s sons has been murdered again”

While a third added: “Wouldn’t surprise me if Chrissie did kill Anthony” A fourth typed: “So Chrissie killed Anthony so she can frame Zoe – just like she framed Sam for Dirty Den’s murder.”

During the episode, Jasmine revealed that when she had attempted to confront Zoe at the hospital following her shooting, she first met Chrissie. She added that Chrissie listened to her but “wanted to go further,” before adding that hours before the pub confrontation, Chrissie allegedly told Jasmine that Zoe deserved what was coming to her.

“She’s capable of this, she said I had to get out of there before the police turned up,” Jasmine said, before a bewildered Kat asked how Chrissie knew the police would arrive. Jasmine also revealed that she believed Chrissie was Anthony’s killer.

“She’s killed Anthony, and she’s trying to frame Zoe,” Kat fumed, adding: “Chrissie killed Anthony!” After being arrested, having handed herself in, Zoe told the police: “He came at me, I pushed him, and he banged his head on the door, but I don’t see how that could have killed him. It weren’t even that hard, I didn’t mean for any of this, none of it.”

Meanwhile, Kat refused to tell the police about their confrontation with Anthony, simply explaining that he was drunk and had been “saying all sorts”.
