Hollyoaks fans say ‘it’s going to kick off’ as Tony’s mystery new woman finally revealed

Hollyoaks viewers were left with the same thought as Tony Hutchinson’s ( Nick Pickard ) new love interest was unveiled in Tuesday’s (October 1) episode of the Channel 4 soap, available for online viewing.

Monday’s (September 30) streamed episode confirmed that Tony and Diane Hutchinson (Alex Fletcher) are heading for divorce, following a lengthy period of marital strife predating the recent one-year time leap.

Initially, there were hints that Tony might be having an affair with Maxine Minniver (Nikki Sanderson), but this proved to be a ‘false’ lead. The supposed secret rendezvous between Tony and Maxine was actually a meeting with Diane where they could discuss their divorce with legal assistance.

Handing over the divorce papers, Maxine said: “If you both can just sign here, we can begin the divorce proceedings immediately.”

After the mediation, Diane confided in Marie Fielding (Rita Simons) about her heartache over her separation from Tony. “Now that it’s done, I’m not sure that I’m happy,” she admitted.

The couple attempted to keep their split under wraps from their children, but Ro Hutchinson (Ava Webster) stumbled upon a draft of their divorce papers. In the latest episode, Tony prepared a romantic dinner for Marie and they confessed their feelings for each other, deciding it was time to break the news to Diane, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Hollyoaks fans have been quick to react on social media after Tony was seen moving on from Diane with Mari. One viewer commented: “She’s palling up to Diane it’s gonna kick off.” Another chimed in: “That is beyond a joke.”

A third fan expressed their enjoyment of the plot: “Loving this storyline.” While a fourth simply stated: “Knew it.” A fifth viewer was less impressed, remarking: “What a complete joke… I like the new Hollyoaks, now this pairing? I’m no sure I like it now..”

The drama escalated after Tony and Marie were caught sharing a secret kiss by Ro following their romantic cooking session. The question on everyone’s lips now is whether Ro will spill the beans about Tony’s affair with Marie to Diane, or if Tony will concoct a scheme to keep the secret under wraps.
