Jake Moon is set to make his EastEnders comeback next month, two years on from his return from the dead.

The cousin of Alfie Moon was thought to have been murdered by mistake by Johnny Allen’s men in 2006. But in 2024, he was finally confirmed alive after almost 20 years, in scenes with his partner Chrissie Watts.

Fans hoped to see him again, and wanted his cousin Alfie to finally find out his true fate. Now, the soap has announced he will be back in Walford, and it’s very soon.

Jake is making another comeback, with actor Joel Beckett reprising his role for a short stint. It follows the explosive events of Christmas Day involving Chrissie and Zoe Slater.

Jake wants answers and returns to Walford to find out what went down. In February, he finds out something rather unexpected, forcing him to question Chrissie and their future.

It’s not revealed who Jake will be in scenes with, but it’s hinted he will come face-to-face with people who aren’t expecting to see him. Speaking about returning to the show, actor Joel shared: “It was really lovely to step back onto the Square after all this time and revisit Jake.

“Being back working alongside familiar faces, as well as some brilliant new ones, was a real joy and it was good to know that Jake had been out there, alive and well. He returns carrying plenty of unanswered questions and the storyline takes him in some unexpected directions with real twists and turns.

“I’m excited for people to see what he’s been up to.” Executive Producer Ben Wadey also had his say, teasing twists ahead. He commented: “I’m delighted to welcome Joel Beckett back to the role of Jake Moon and EastEnders for this storyline.

“Jake’s return will be a shock for many, but the biggest shocks of all will surround Jake and what he discovers about Christmas…” What exactly happens and what he finds out remains to be seen.

We also don’t know just how long he’s in Walford for, and whether it will lead to Chrissie’s third return to the show. Fans will no doubt be hoping for a Moon reunion for Jake and Alfie, with Jake’s fate never revealed to his cousin when he vanished two decades ago.

Recently, Chrissie was targeting Zoe on the soap in a revenge mission, using her daughter Jasmine against her. But this backfired when Jasmine turned against her and so Chrissie fled.
