Jacob Gallagher has had a wild love life on Emmerdale and in real life actor Joe Warren-Plant has faced his fair share of heartbreak.
Actor Joe-Warren joined the ITV soap as Jacob in 2010 – and since then he’s been involved in several big storylines. From being groomed to losing his mum Leyla (Roxy Shahidi) in the limo crash last year, his time in the Dales has not been short of drama.
Especially at the moment, as a dark new storyline has kicked off recently involving trainee doctor Jacob and his boss Doctor Todd (Caroline Harker), with the storyline exploring workplace bullying and power dynamics.
Jacob’s also had his fair share of romances too on the soap, including his current wife Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill).
Away from the soap though, Jacob actor Joe-Warren Plant has had an off-screen love life that’s almost as tumultuous as his character’s on-screen escapades. Here, we’re taking a look inside Joe-Warren Plant’s rollercoaster love life.
‘Tough’ split from model girlfriend

Joe-Warren was in a relationship with model Nicole Hadlow from 2017 until 2021. The pair were living together when Joe-Warren decided to move out of their shared home when he started training for Dancing on Ice.
It was reported at the time that the schedule and stress of training put pressure on their relationship which led to their split.
Talking about the breakup at the time, Joe told The Sun: “Dancing on Ice has come at a good time for me physically and mentally.
“Relationships are hard to kind of deal with. It has helped to take my mind off of it slightly, having to focus and train all day every day. Even when you’re not training and you’re at home you’ve got to take the recovery aspect into terms.
“It’s helped taking my mind off it, but things are still tough to be fair.”

Joe-Warren was also romantically linked to his Dancing on Ice partner and co-star Vanessa Bauer at the time – something he denied.
“With a show like Dancing On Ice it’s about telling a story to engage with the audience and the judges,” he said.
“So you have to have a certain level of chemistry between you and your partner, so I think everyone has seen we are getting on so well and assumed there is something going on.
“But there isn’t, we are just dedicated to the show, we are trying to do the best we possibly can.”
‘Very sad’ break-up
Joe-Warren split from his ex after getting a house together
Following his split from Nicole, Joe-Warren went Instagram official with his new model girlfriend Anna Norton in 2022. The pair reportedly bought a property in Blackpool in 2022 and they shared a cat together.
However, their relationship hit troubled waters in 2024 and the pair called it quits after two years.
A source told The Sun: “Joe and Anna are over, it’s very sad but they are still very young. It hasn’t been the amicable split they were hoping for and they aren’t speaking now at all.”
Loved up with new girlfriend

A few months after his split from Anna, Joe-Warren went public with his new girlfriend, Isabella in January 2025.
The actor re-shared a snap of him and Isabella which she had previously uploaded to her own Instagram. In the snap, the smitten couple posed for a mirror selfie together.
Going from strength to strength, Joe-Warren and Isabella have since enjoined several sun-soaked holidays together. Last year, they headed to Barcelona and documented their trip with several loved-up photos.
