Lucas and Dillon’s romance captivated fans of the show for the past three years but the pair endured a serious amount of heartache, from cheating scandals to Luca’s brain tumour battle and Dillon being exploited by a criminal gang.

In Nathaniel’s final scenes, his character is seen trying to break Lucas out of prison as he is currently serving time for attacking dad Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson), who had embarked on a secret affair with Dillon.

After learning about his dad’s affair with his boyfriend, Lucas stalked Dillon and attacked Ste but time behind bars has made him reconsider his actions.

With Lucas set to be broken out of captivity with the help of James Nightingale (Greg Finnegan), he said goodbye to Vicky Grant (Anya Lawrence) and prepared to leave with his soulmate.

However, Ste’s partner Rex Gallagher (Jonny Labey) stuck his nose in and Lucas came to realise that estranged father was completely unaware of his breakout plot and, not wanting to leave things as they are with his dad, he decided that he would stay and serve his time, much to the devastation of Dillon.
