ITV series Joan has gripped viewers as millions learn about the true story of a notorious jewel thief. Joan Hannington, also known as The Godmother, was a notorious figure in London’s criminal underworld during the 1980s, stealing diamonds for the thrill and to raise funds to rescue her daughter from foster care.
The series features an array of heists, with Mrs Taylor-Brown (Caroline Harker) targetted by Joan ( Sophie Turner ) and her partner Boisie (Frank Dillane) to steal a valuable painting. Joan is invited into her home for a drink and Mrs Taylor-Brown lets her spend the night.
As Joan lets Boisie in during the night, Mr. Taylor-Brown (Roger Ringrose) stumbles upon the pair and Joan and Boisie just about escape with the painting.

Born in 1966, Harker was born in London to parents actress Polly Adams and actor Richard Owens. She and her sisters, Nelly and fellow actress Susannah were brought up as Catholics and educated at a “strict” independent convent boarding school run by nuns in Sussex.
She later attended the Central School of Speech and Drama in North London and made early TV appearances in Growing Rich, Middlemarch and The Madness of King George, alongside her now-husband Anthony Calf.
Her famous sister Susannah Harker is an English actress and director who has appeared in film, television, and theatre. Her biggest role was Mattie Storin in the BBC drama House of Cards, for which she was nominated for a BAFTA.

Caroline Harker is married to the actor Anthony Calf, with whom they have three daughters Louise Emma Calf, Cecilia Ann L Calf and Anemone Georgiana Calf.
Calf is known for The Madness of King George, Beau Geste and I Came By, as well as roles in Lewis and New Tricks. His former brother-in-law is Game of Thrones staff Iain Glen.
