Tony is struggling with his wife's diagnosis.

Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

Hollyoaks‘ Tony Hutchinson breaks down next week as he struggles to cope following Diane Hutchinson’s terminal cancer diagnosis. So far, Tony has tried to be strong for his wife, but it soon gets too much for the restaurant owner.

Last week, Tony and Diane revealed the truth to kids Ant, Dee Dee and Ro, with all three dealing with the shocking news that their mum only has a few months to live in their own way.

Diane also told Tony that she wasn’t sure that chemotherapy was the right way to go – as although it could prolong her life, the quality of life would be lowered as she’d be weak and exhausted. However, in Monday’s episode, seeing how much it’d mean to her loved ones, she agreed to the chemotherapy.

Next week, Diane puts on a brave face for her family before heading to the hospital for a chemotherapy session – armed with magazines the teens bought for her to stop her getting bored.

She also promises her family they can all have a proper Easter celebration when she is back home, but Tony is apprehensive as he worries it’ll be too much for her.

Nancy Osborne arrives at the hospital to support her friend, and Diane confides in her that Tony’s fussing is making her feel anxious.

Tony meanwhile is being bombarded with calls from the teens, who are trying to cook a surprise roast dinner for Diane. Nancy offers to stay at the hospital with Diane while Tony goes home to check they haven’t set the place on fire.

Back at the pub, it’s absolute chaos and Tony finds the kitchen in ruins and the chicken burnt. This proves to be the tipping point for Tony. With him already struggling and just wanting to be there for his wife, he breaks down.

Later, wanting to create normality, Diane tells Tony she’s getting ready for a family lunch all together.

Elsewhere, a struggling Ant opens up to Kathleen-Angel outside The Dog. She offers him a a shoulder to cry on, but Theresa sees the interaction and jumps to conclusions, scolding them. This comes after Theresa discovered Kathleen-Angel and Ant slept together recently.

Meanwhile, Hollyoaks released its spring trailer this week, which sees Diane looking for someone to raise her kids when she’s gone…
