EXCLUSIVE: Is Clare dead on Hollyoaks? Gemma Bissix makes telling comment about villain’s fate

The villain had quite the showdown with Sienna Blake and it appears she met her match. As Clare goaded Sienna, things came to a head and Sienna pushed her new nemesis off of the pier-like concrete structure, and into the water below.
With Clare seemingly killed off, actress Gemma exclusively told The Mirror her thoughts on whether history would repeat. It wouldn’t be the first time Clare was presumed dead, or even killed off onscreen, ahead of a shock comeback.
So could we see Clare return in the future, or is she really dead this time? Gemma spilled: “I’m just back for a short stint and the stuff that she gets up to in three episodes is absolutely outrageous.

“I mean that’s what I love about Hollyoaks, that it’s just heightened drama. Claire gets under Sienna’s skin so badly that she ends up pushing Clare off the cliff, and that’s it.
“But we look down to the water and Clare is nowhere to be seen, as we have discovered in previous years. She’s a fantastic swimmer, isn’t she? She’s an Olympic swimmer.
“I think that it’s brilliant because it is just so Clare.” Of course Gemma can’t say whether Clare is dead or not, but she’s certainly teased she might be back, as it is soap land after all.
Gemma also said the moment with Sienna on the cliff could spell the return of the ‘old’ Sienna, who schemed, took action and even killed. Gemma explained: “She’s trying to goad Sienna by saying you were much more interesting when you were killing people basically. I saw it with Anna [Passey] with her acting and there’s parts of me that think Sienna’s gonna start becoming like a bit more like the old Sienna.”

She said of the twist: “I think there’s a part of Clare that’s been in prison in these four walls within her own head.
“She does have a little bit of a soft side, I mean, albeit it doesn’t last very long. She realised that she was being tricked by Froggy. Her heart is absolutely broken. It becomes a battle of wits. You know the guns on the side.
“They look at each other, they know what they’re both capable of, and it seems whoever gets that gun first is going to survive out of the two of them, because they’re pretty harsh, they’re all pretty ruthless. She’s the one with more high stakes more to lose.
“And I think she just got the upper hand. It’s quite a sad story. When I read the script coming back, I was like, right, your first episode back, you escape prison and kill your grandad.”
