Coronation Street confirms twist for Gail Platt as two major returns spell an unexpected end for her
Last night’s episode of Coronation Street saw the return of two major characters, and it didn’t take long before they were at each other’s throats.
Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver) is officially back in Weatherfield after a trip abroad to visit son Jason earlier this year.
However, as soon as she had settled back into life on the cobbles, her peace was shattered by the sudden arrival of a face from the past.
She was horrified to set eyes on none other than Jesse Chadwick (John Thomson), who had returned to the street to visit Eileen’s nemesis, Gail Platt (Helen Worth).
Viewers will know that Eileen was left heartbroken by Jesse in 2010 when he cheated on her with her own sister, Julie Carp (Katy Cavanagh).
Eileen was absolutely furious to see him again – and even more so when she realised that he and Gail had had a fling during her trip to Thailand in 2021.
She wasted no time in spreading news of Jesse’s arrival around the cobbles, and soon Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls) had confronted Gail about it.
