Adam accused of crime in Coronation Street that could incur a violent villain’s wrath

A new spoiler video has revealed how Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) is under the spotlight in Coronation Street next week, as his ex Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) suspects him of stealing Damon Hay’s (Ciaran Griffiths) money.

On Friday, viewers of the ITV soap saw Adam confess to Sarah that he’d intercepted and deleted a voice message from the gangster offering to pay Bethany’s (Lucy Fallon) medical bills, after she was stranded in a Turkish hospital following botched plastic surgery.

While Sarah told him she didn’t need Damon’s cash as mum Gail Platt (Helen Worth) had taken out a loan to pay for Bethany’s treatment, when she called Damon in prison, he revealed that his mate checked the lock-up where the money had been left and it was gone.

As Corrie fans will know, Damon, Sarah and Adam have a complicated history, as last year she embarked upon an affair with the drug dealer, which ended her marriage to Adam.

Next week, Sarah is on a mission to find the missing cash, which was left over from the armed heist back in March, for which Damon was later sentenced to six years in jail.

As our spoiler video reveals, Sarah interrogates Adam at the solicitor’s office believing he has nabbed the cash.

Knowing he could incur the wrath of violent Damon if he had, Adam assures Sarah he had nothing to do with it, nor did Bethany’s boyfriend Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard).

Instead, he suspects the most likely suspect is Damon’s cousin who went to ‘check’ on it…

However, there’s a new name in the frame later in the week when Adam lets slip that Gail’s new boyfriend Jesse Chadwick (John Thompson) may have overheard him and Daniel discussing Damon’s hidden loot.

Is he the real culprit?

Coronation Street airs these scenes on Monday 14 October at 8pm on ITV1 and from 7am on ITVX.
